Olle is an eight-year-old boy who, waking up one night after a nightmare, goes to seek reassurance from his eleven-year-old sister Lillemor in the next bed, only to discover that she has disappeared. Thus begins his odyssey in search of her, through the dangerous forest and the fearsome creatures of Scandinavian folklore that inhabit it.
